Assembly:

Click on the image of the block at the right and print the page. You will need to have Adobe® Reader® Version 7 installed on your computer. Check to make sure the blocks measure 3 1/2" square. You will need to make 16 copies so that you have 64 blocks all together. If you turn the toner down on the copy machine, you won't have problems with the toner on the ironing board.

Foundation piece the number of blocks as shown at right, trimming to 1/4" and pressing after each addition. If you don't know how to paper piece, see our "Tips" page. Trim all blocks to 3 1/2" and remove paper before assembling the rest of the quilt.

Using 4 corner blocks, 4 of block A and 8 of Block B, assemble the star block in rows as shown at right. Be sure to have the blue and yellow corners diagonally across from each other as shown. Sew the rows together to complete the star. You need 4 of these blocks to complete the quilt.

Using block C, Border 1 - 3 1/2" squares and 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" rectangles, assemble 2 borders as shown below for the top and bottom of the quilt.

Using block C, Border 1 - 3 1/2" squares and 3 1/2" x 10 1/4" rectangles, assemble 2 borders as show below for the sides of the quilt.

Sew 4 star blocks together for center of quilt. Add the top and bottom pieced borders, then border 2 - 1 1/2" x 24 1/2" rectangles and border 3 - 3 1/4" x 24 1/4" rectangles. Continue by adding the pieced borders to the sides of the quilt, followed by border 2 - 1 1/2" x 38" rectangles and border 3 - 3 1/4" x 38" rectangles.

Quilt your wallhanging as desired and bind.
