BARB ENGELKING owns and operates Fabric Works in Superior,
Wisconsin, one of Northern Wisconsin's most popular quilt shops. Barb
does all the computer work connected with the pattern company and
website. She designs all the graphic diagrams, figures out the pattern
layouts and gets everything ready for the printer. Barb has an "engineering
mind" and is very concerned with the accuracy of the product.
Besides quilting, she has mastered knitting, stained glass and marbling
fabric. When she is not in the shop, she can be found out on the golf
course, improving her game or traveling to hockey games, where her
daugher, Jena, plays goalie. Barb is married to Jerry, an electrical
contractor and their son, Jeremy, is learning the business from his
dad.
CLAUDIA CLARK MYERS is a retired costume designer and a "fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants"
quilter. She has had many quilts juried into national shows and won
awards at all of them. Most of the quilts and patterns from 2 Much
Fun! have come from Claudia's designs-directions interpreted by Barb.
She teaches and lectures on machine quilting and using the 2 Much
Fun! patterns. Claudia has been consulting with American Professional
Quilting Systems on the development of a Long-arm machine mounted
in a cabinet for "sit-down quilters". She and her husband
Tom, live in the woods, north of Duluth, with their dog, Gus. They
have three children, Tad, Pete, and Jessica---Jess is a long-arm quilter.
The two friends have also designed several
lines of fabric for Fabri-Quilt in Kansas City. They also share a love
of gardening, which, between the extreme cold in the winter, and the
deer and rabbits in the summer, is quite a challenge! Many of their
fabric designs come from photos taken in their gardens.
